Arizona’s public-entity calendar deserves immediate attention. Compare Injury Law Firms, learn which facts can change the analysis, and open the official sources behind each statewide rule.
Arizona’s ordinary injury limitations period is only one part of the calendar. If a city, county, public school, state agency, or public employee may be involved, the notice-of-claim statute can create a much earlier step. That distinction changes what a reader should ask in the first lawyer consultation.
Geography also changes the investigation. Phoenix-area freeways and arterials, Tucson streets and trails, reservation boundaries, desert recreation, and long treatment travel from rural communities can lead to different witnesses and records. The statewide firms below are most useful when compared against the actual incident and defendant.
I-10, I-17, Loop 101, Loop 202, light rail, delivery fleets, and fast-growing suburban streets can place city, state, transit, and private records in one file. Record the precise jurisdiction and travel direction.
Firm records are not rankings or endorsements. Verify the individual lawyer’s license, relevant experience, availability, service area, fees, and role.

Arizona’s limitations and comparative-negligence provisions are concise, but the related statutes add important boundaries. A useful review starts with §§ 12-542 and 12-2505 and then checks allocation and claim-specific rules.
A.R.S. § 12-542 states that listed actions, including injuries done to another person, must be commenced and prosecuted within two years after accrual. The section includes separate language for injury when death ensues, while other claims and defendants can be governed elsewhere.
Section 12-2505 says a claimant’s action is not barred when the jury applies contributory negligence or assumption of risk; damages are reduced in proportion to relative fault. The same section denies that comparative-negligence right to a claimant who intentionally, wilfully, or wantonly caused or contributed to the injury or death.
Section 12-2506 generally makes each defendant liable for the amount allocated to that defendant and describes when nonparty fault may be considered. That makes early identification of people and entities connected to the event practically important.
Urban roads, university activity, parks, trailheads, and desert recreation require attention to land ownership, warnings, weather, emergency access, and the identity of any organizer or operator.
Arizona’s notice statute expressly refers to public schools. A school injury needs early identification of the district, charter status, employees, contractors, facility owner, reports, and supervision documents.
A.R.S. § 11-1025 provides an owner-liability rule for bites in public places or when a person is lawfully in a private place, regardless of former viciousness or the owner’s knowledge. Section 11-1027 addresses provocation. Preserve owner information, the scene, medical care, witnesses, and animal-control records.
A.R.S. § 12-821.01 generally requires a person with a claim against a public entity, public school, or public employee to file a compliant claim with an authorized recipient within 180 days after accrual. Section 12-821 generally sets a one-year action period. These are not interchangeable steps, and the statute contains detailed content and accrual rules.
ExperienceAsk for experience with the incident, defendant, insurance, and procedural issues—not only “personal injury” generally.

MoneyAsk how the fee is calculated, which costs are advanced, how liens are handled, and what is owed if the matter is unsuccessful.
The statute uses accrual language. Determining accrual can depend on the claim and facts, so do not calculate it from this summary alone.
Section 12-2505 describes proportional reduction rather than a general 50% cutoff, subject to its stated intentional, wilful, or wanton-conduct limitation and other applicable law.
Arizona’s allocation statute can permit consideration of nonparty fault when procedural requirements are met. A lawyer can assess who should be investigated or named.
It is the general notice-of-claim period in § 12-821.01, not a universal lawsuit deadline. Compliance, accrual, recipient, and exceptions need legal review.
Section 11-1025 states liability regardless of former viciousness or the owner’s knowledge, subject to its terms and defenses.
Preserve maps, permits, warnings, weather, GPS or phone data, organizer communications, rescue records, photos, and the land or facility operator’s identity.
